The Results of the First Day of the Conference “Orbeli Forum 2025” Summarized

The first day of the “Orbeli Forum 2025” conference, organized by the Orbeli Analytical Center of the Public Relations and Information Center of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Armenia has been summarized. 



The forum is being held in the context of the new realities in the South Caucasus, considering the initialed peace agreement between Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan signed on August 8. The main goal of the event is to strengthen the peace established in the region, to promote the development of communication channels and infrastructure, as well as the formation of new formats of cooperation. 
 



Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, delivered the opening speech. He stated that the peace process is not only ideological but is already producing practical results.  



“The very fact that the representatives of civil society and media from Azerbaijan and Turkey are present here today, within the framework of this platform, speaks for itself,” noted Arayik Harutyunyan.  



Gor Tsarukyan, Director of the Public Relations and Information Center, noted that organizing such events involving representatives from the professional and expert environment is crucial in the peacebuilding process. 



Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, delivered the keynote speech, noting that the forum’s title fully reflects the policy agenda of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the ruling majority. The Prime Minister spoke about the regulation on joint activity of demarcation commissions signed between the Republic of Armenia and Azerbaijan in 2024 and noted that, in fact, it is the first bilateral international document signed between the two countries, which has legal force de jure in Armenia and in Azerbaijan.



During the panels of the first day, the participants discussed the process of peacebuilding in the South Caucasus, the development of economic interdependence, as well as the creation of new regional opportunities.



In the second half of the day, discussions focused on regional infrastructure development, emphasizing the growing role of Asia, the Middle East and the European Union countries in ensuring the stability and economic growth of the South Caucasus.



Speakers also noted that the conference serves as an important platform for regional and international dialogue.
